Banking & Finance

Israel Discount Bank (IDB) wanted to establish a country-wide digital signage network at the bank’s headquarters and branches in Israel.

Using Cnario Suite, YCD Multimedia designed a network infrastructure and content management system to manage the bank’s 130 branches.

As a result, the new system enabled the bank to better serve their customers by providing them with updated information about Israel Discount Bank’s available programs and services.

The Israel Discount Bank is the third largest bank and leading financial group in Israel. With nationwide coverage and a strong, growing domestic franchise, IDB provides a full spectrum of corporate and retail financial products and services. Not only do they provide services to clients in Israel, they also have clients in key financial centers around the world.

Due to IDB’s many wide-spread branches throughout Israel and beyond, IDB sought to create something that would help unify them as an overall brand. After much consideration of their options, they felt that a large-scale digital signage network would meet this need and immediately sought out YCD Multimedia to help them achieve these goals.

Together with their partner CTV, a provider of digital signage network solutions, YCD Multimedia quickly rolled out their plans for a digital signage network with installations at each of IDB’s 130 branches and the bank’s headquarters.  Using their digital signage software suite, Cnario, YCD Multimedia built a digital signage solution that would give each branch access to over 600 channels with video and audio information. An additional 100 channels would be transmitted at the bank’s headquarters, and the headquarters would be able to control and regulate which content goes live at each of the 130 branches.

One of the best parts was that after the signage had been prepped and Cnario Suite integrated at IDB’s Network Operations Center, the entire new digital signage network was deployed in record time, just two months, and was set into motion by the Network Operating Center simply by sending a dedicated installation patch that absorbed the local specifications from each branch server and conducted the installation automatically.

The new content was mainly spearheaded by CTV while some was created internally by IDB.  All of the content was customized to fit the specific needs of each of the branches and their departments. Content types provided were very diverse including, bank ads, atmosphere clips and external resources like the news, live television broadcasts and each day every branch receives 1 to 2 music channels.

As a result the atmosphere in each IDB branch has improved significantly, providing a cohesive and brand reinforcing message to all IDB customers no matter which branch they visit. The content provided keeps the customers on top of all the latest services and programs available from IDB and also allows the bank to update and train employees the moment policy and training procedures change.  Overall the digital signage solution has opened new horizons for IDB and allowed for effective, targeted communication based on business rules, location and audience. While discussing his satisfaction with the outcome of the project, Roni Peled, Advertising and Marketing Manager of Israel Discount Bank, said, “The digital signage network enables us to communicate better with our customers, providing them with updated information about the bank's various services and programs. The network helps us stay competitive and meet our business challenges, using advanced technologies.”
